No, you don’t. While having a spare makes the process slightly faster (for cloning), we can completely replace lost keys from scratch. We use specialist tools to decode the locks on the car to cut the physical blade, and diagnostic software to program the new chip.
Yes, almost always. The main dealership will usually require you to pay to have the vehicle towed to their garage, and then make you wait several days (sometimes weeks) while they order the key from the factory. We come directly to you and do it on the same day, saving you towing fees and downtime.
They won’t be able to start your car. When we plug our diagnostic computers into your vehicle to program the new key, we wipe the immobilizer’s memory. This deactivates the lost key. If it is inserted into the ignition, the engine will simply refuse to start.
